The centerpiece of Wave House Sentosa is The FlowBarrel, a fully-flowing, curling and barreling sheet wave that approximates a roaring, 10-foot wave when it’s cranked to setting 11.
Invented by Tom Lochtefeld, the founder and CEO of Wave House, Wave Loch and Surf Loch (and a surfer himself), his invention pump water at a high speed over stationary curved walls to generate barreling and smooth waves. The waveform is a proprietary composite membrane ride surface that is designed to absorb the force of impacts. So be relaxed, even if you wipeout, you’ll soon be back on your feet.
Our waves is a twenty-first century form of alchemy that has combined surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding and almost any sport wth the word board in it. Since the early 1990s, the world’s best board riders have cross-pollinated into flowboarding, taken as seriously as those from the mountains and the sea.
The sports scene in Singapore has finally found middleground at Wave House Sentosa as a large population of local Singaporean surfers, skaters, skimboarders and even snowboarders, flock to Sentosa in search of perfection on the rushing wave.
